Introducing “The Lounge” at GFaceMD, where we offer intravenous infusion of signature and customized blends of vitamins, minerals, and/or electrolytes to positively affect the body and above all, the biggest organ of the body: the SKIN.
How does it work?
While undergoing IV drip therapy, your body is receiving higher concentrations of the vitamins themselves. Typically, when ingesting vitamins by mouth, vitamins are broken down by the digestive tract and your body is only able to absorb about 50% of the vitamin. If a vitamin is given through an IV, it is absorbed at a much higher percentage, typically around 90%. Through an IV, vitamins and minerals are also able to be absorbed at a much quicker rate.
Who is a good candidate?
Vitamin infusions can be used for a variety of concerns. The most popular reasons are to boost immunity, balance hormones, hydrate the skin, and are often used after extreme exercise or alcohol intake. It is important to note that patients with vitamin deficiency, fibromyalgia, muscle spasms, and/or migraines have also seen positive results when undergoing IV therapy.
What type of vitamins/minerals are infused?
The vitamins infused during IV therapy are vitamin C, vitamin B complex, and biotin. The therapy can also contain antioxidants such as glutathione.
Let’s break down some of our favorites:
Vitamin B complex- Vitamin B plays a role in many different areas of the body. It is used to control blood sugar, metabolism, and affect overall energy. Vitamin B can help you feel refreshed after a hard workout, a night of drinking, or if you are just feeling under the weather. Vitamin B complex can also be used to combat migraines, depression, and anxiety.
Vitamin C: Vitamin C is needed in your bones, vessels, and skin to stay healthy. It supports immune function which is why it is so beneficial to take while you are sick or feeling like you are getting sick.
Glutathione- Glutathione is an antioxidant with many functions. It helps to form DNA, supports immune function, breaks down free radicals, and regenerates both vitamin C and vitamin E.
How long does it take?
Infusions can range anywhere from 20 minutes to 90 minutes. Typically, most infusions are given within 45 minutes. If you do not have enough time for a full IV bag, we also offer intramuscular (IM) vitamin injections. At GFaceMD, we offer injections of vitamins lipo B12, D, and biotin. These IM injections can be given quickly and get you in and out of the door in just a few minutes. IM injections are also able to give you a variety of benefits. Vitamin B12 can improve metabolism, and appearance of skin while also lowering fatigue, increasing energy, and more! Vitamin D supports your immune system, promotes healthy bone formation, regulates blood pressure, and more!
