Dermaplaning

Know When to Seek Help: Signs You Need a Dermatologist

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation anti-aging skin treatment that removes the vellus hairs, or “peach fuzz,” and other superficial debris from the face.

Dermaplaning is a wonderful way to remove dead skin cells from the skin’s surface. One of our medical aesthetic experts will meticulously graze the skin’s surface with a fine scalpel, revealing fresh, healthy skin.

During this procedure, dead skin cells and fine hair on the face are removed, resulting in an ultra-smooth, glowing complexion. Dermaplaning is an excellent service to maintain a healthy cellular turnover monthly. Perfect for before a big event as it lays the perfect foundation for makeup application.

Why Should You Try Dermaplaning?

  • Diminishes fine lines and wrinkles
  • Unclogs pores
  • Reduces pore size
  • Exfoliates dead skin cells
  • Evens skin tone
  • Addresses hyperpigmentation
  • Brightens skin
  • Hydrates skin
  • No downtime

**This procedure may not suit those with certain skin conditions or those using certain skincare products.

The entire procedure includes facial cleansing, gentle massage, dermaplaning, and moisturizing.

Dermaplaning FAQs

Dermaplaning is a procedure that uses a medical scalpel to exfoliate dead skin cells and remove peach fuzz, technically called "vellus hair."

Dermaplaning is essentially the same as shaving. The Dermaplaning procedure can remove dead skin cells, scar tissue, and other debris from your skin's surface by dragging a sterile blade at a 45-degree angle across it slowly.

Dermaplaning is perfect for people with dry, rough, aging, or uneven skin. Dermaplaning may also help reduce the appearance of shallow acne scars, fine lines, and superficial hyperpigmentation.

The results of Dermaplaning can be seen very quickly since it is a more potent form of exfoliation. After three to six treatments, clients usually see the best results. However, it is important to continue receiving Dermaplaning treatments to maintain these results.
Dermaplaning can be performed every 3-4 weeks or after the skin has completed its next regeneration cycle. Dead skin cells must accumulate again, and the vellus hairs (peach fuzz) must regrow in order for it to be effective. Dermaplaning treatments can be performed only once if you want radiant skin for a special event, or you can do them once or twice a month in order to maintain radiant-looking skin.
You should have no downtime after this procedure. You may experience some redness or feel like your skin has been scraped for two to three days.
