Chemical Peels Wellesley

Chemical Peels Wellesley

GFaceMD offers chemical peels to help our patients achieve more youthful, beautiful skin and feel and look their best! A chemical peel can treat sun damage and other cosmetic concerns like fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and unwanted freckles.

Chemical Peels are cosmetic procedures that remove and regenerate the epidermal layer of your skin on the face or body.ad cells in the top layer are removed, resulting in the creation of new ones! During the first two weeks following the procedure, you may notice some peeling, but don’t be too concerned; your skin will be very soft after your treatment, with minimal scarring. Chemical peels can also help eliminate those unsightly scars you may have wanted to get rid of for years!

Contact The GFaceMD Team for a consultation to determine if you’re a good candidate for a chemical peel.

Chemical Peels FAQs

A chemical peel removes damaged, aged, or dead skin cells, revealing fresh, healthy skin underneath.

Chemical peels help remove superficial layers of the skin by creating controlled wounds that allow the skin to resurface. Chemical peels promote the growth of healthy skin layers and treat various skin conditions, such as fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin texture.

Fair-skinned, light-haired individuals are more likely to benefit from chemical peels. Patients with pale skin respond better to chemical peels because their pigment is less irritating to the epidermis. However, you're also more likely to develop an uneven skin tone due to the treatment.

You may experience some redness following a chemical peel, but this usually fades in seven to fourteen days.
Chemical peels can leave you with visible results for a few weeks to the rest of your life. Chemical peels have various effects, but the most significant is strength: lighter, superficial results last between 1 to 2 months, while more significant results may take 6 to 12 weeks.
The depth of the peel also determines how long it takes to recover. For light and medium peels, your skin will flake and peel for four to seven days after your procedure. With a deep peel, you can expect to recover for up to 2 weeks and experience significant peeling, swelling, and redness. Additionally, you may experience stinging, which can be minimized with ice packs and over-the-counter pain medications (Advil or Motrin). If you are getting a deep peel, you may be prescribed pain medication to help make a recovery easier.
