Semaglutide Weight Loss Program

Semaglutide Weight Loss Program

*In Both Wellesley and Mashpee, MA Locations

We’re thrilled to introduce a weight management injection that has recently received FDA approval.

As of June 2021, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has greenlit semaglutide (Wegovy) as a once-weekly injectable treatment for long-term weight control. This is for adults who are overweight or obese with weight-related health issues like hypertension, type 2 diabetes, or elevated cholesterol. This treatment, administered subcutaneously, is the first of its kind to gain FDA approval for long-term weight management in adults since 2014. It is intended for those with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 27 or higher who have at least one weight-related condition, or for those with a BMI of 30 or higher.

What to Expect:

For your first appointment, you’ll need to book a consultation with our healthcare team. Before coming in, you’ll need to complete some blood tests and confirm that you are under the supervision of a PCP, or Primary Care Physician. During your consultation, our medical professionals will assess whether semaglutide is an appropriate and safe choice for you, based on FDA guidelines for obesity treatment. This appointment involves a thorough review of your medical history, current medications, vital statistics, and BMI.
You are NOT a suitable candidate for semaglutide if you have any of the following conditions: diabetic eye disease, hypoglycemia, impaired kidney function, pancreatitis, gastrointestinal issues, gallbladder disease, medullary thyroid carcinoma (or a family history of it), or multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2. This also applies if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.

Semaglutide Results:

Semaglutide is among the most effective weight management medications available. However, don’t expect rapid weight loss. Typically, individuals lose around 1-2 pounds per week, although this can vary. Combining semaglutide with a calorie-restricted diet and regular physical activity will enhance your results.

If you have health issues related to excess weight, you should notice improvements with treatment. Many report reductions in cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels. Most patients reach their weight and health objectives within a year and generally have more long-term success compared to those who haven’t used semaglutide.
During your personal consultation, we will discuss the advantages of semaglutide for weight management and set realistic expectations for your treatment journey.
The starting dose for semaglutide is usually 0.25 mg per week, increasing by 0.25 mg every four weeks until the desired dose is achieved, as tolerated. Side effects like nausea and digestive discomfort are common, especially during dose adjustments. Consistency in weekly subcutaneous injections is crucial.

Review

Truly the most amazing team of people at this office. I am totally new to treatments like dermal filler or dysport/botox and I’m so happy I chose to go here. These ladies have such incredible expertise and did a phenomenal job. I had treatments for forehead lines, facial symmetry with dermal filler, and my lips. I could not be happier with my experience here or the results. Everyone in the office was incredibly friendly and made my experience a 10/10.
